Google Ads Management Services

Built on Clean Data and Clear Goals

Crossway Consulting provides Google Ads management services for businesses that want paid search to produce qualified leads and sales, not just clicks. As a Google Ads agency with an in-house development team, we handle the full picture: campaign strategy, keyword research, ad copy, conversion tracking, bid strategy and the landing pages your ads send people to.

Every account we manage starts with measurement. Google’s automated bidding can only optimize toward the conversions it can see, so we verify tracking before we scale spend. From there, we build campaigns around your margins, your sales cycle and the searches your customers actually type.

What Do Our Google Ads Management Services Include?

Our Google Ads management services cover account auditing, keyword research, campaign builds, ad copy, conversion tracking, bid strategy, landing page alignment and reporting. Each engagement is scoped to your goals, so a local service business and a national ecommerce brand will not receive the same campaign structure. The eight areas below make up the core of the work.

01
Account Audit and Strategy

If you already run Google Ads, we start with a structured audit of your campaigns, conversion actions, search terms, budgets and bid strategies. We look for wasted spend, missing tracking, overlapping campaigns and settings that no longer match your goals. The findings become a written plan with priorities, so you know what changes and why before anything is touched.

02
Keyword Research and Search Term Management

We build keyword lists around buying intent and group them into tightly themed ad groups. After launch, we review the search terms report on a set schedule and add negative keywords to block irrelevant queries. This step matters because Google states that negative keywords do not match close variants, so plurals and synonyms of a term you want to exclude must be added separately.

03
Campaign Builds Across Google's Inventory

We set up and manage Search, Performance Max, Shopping, Display and YouTube video campaigns. Campaign type follows the goal: Search captures people actively looking for your service, Shopping puts your products and prices in front of buyers, and Performance Max reaches Google's wider inventory from a single campaign. We explain each recommendation and do not add campaign types just to spend more budget.

04
Ad Copy and Creative Assets

Responsive search ads accept up to 15 headlines and 4 descriptions, and Google tests combinations to learn which perform best. We write distinct, policy-compliant headlines that each make sense on their own, pin only what must always appear, and add sitelinks, callouts and call assets where they help. For Performance Max and Display, we supply the images, logos and text assets each campaign needs.

05
Conversion Tracking and Measurement

We configure the Google tag, conversion actions and conversion values so Google Ads reports the outcomes that matter to your business. Where it fits, we implement enhanced conversions, which send hashed first-party data such as email addresses to improve measurement accuracy. We also set up call reporting for phone leads, offline conversion imports for sales closed after the click, and consent mode alongside your cookie banner.

06
Bid Strategy and Budget Management

Google's Smart Bidding strategies (Maximize conversions, Target CPA, Maximize conversion value and Target ROAS) set bids at auction time using signals such as device, location and time of day. We match the strategy to your data volume and goals, and set realistic targets instead of copying defaults. Budgets are reviewed against performance so spend moves toward the campaigns that produce results.

07
Landing Page Alignment

Google assesses landing page experience as part of ad quality, and a slow or off-topic page loses both conversions and auction strength. Because Crossway also builds websites, our team can recommend or build dedicated landing pages that match each ad group's message. See our landing page development service for details.

08
Reporting and Communication

You receive a monthly performance report covering spend, conversions, cost per conversion and the changes we made during the period. Reports focus on business outcomes rather than vanity metrics like impressions alone. When something significant changes, such as a tracking issue or a policy disapproval, we tell you as soon as we see it rather than waiting for the next report.

How Google Decides Where Your Ads Show and What You Pay

The highest bid does not automatically win on Google. Each time someone searches, Google calculates an Ad Rank for every eligible ad, which decides whether it shows and in what position. Understanding that calculation is the foundation of cost-efficient Google PPC management.

The Six Factors Behind Ad Rank

Google bases Ad Rank on six factors: your bid, the quality of your ads and landing page, the Ad Rank thresholds an ad must meet to show, the competitiveness of the auction, the context of the search, and the expected impact of your ad assets. Context includes the search terms, the searcher’s location, their device and the time of the search. Your bid is the maximum you are willing to pay, and Google notes the actual cost per click is often lower.

What Quality Score Tells You

Quality Score is a 1 to 10 rating at the keyword level, based on expected clickthrough rate, ad relevance and landing page experience. Google describes it as a diagnostic tool and states that it is not itself an input in the ad auction. We use it to find weak spots, such as an ad group whose landing page is rated below average, then fix the underlying ad or page rather than chasing the number.

Why Ad Quality Lowers Costs

According to Google, higher quality ads can often lead to lower costs per click and determine eligibility for assets such as sitelinks. That is why our work concentrates on relevance: keywords grouped by intent, ads written for those keywords, and landing pages that deliver what the ad promised. Better quality improves your position without requiring you to simply bid more.

Search, AI Max and Performance Max: Choosing the Right Mix

Google Ads now gives advertisers more automation than ever, and the right amount depends on your data, your goals and how much control you need. Our role is to decide which automated features help your account, switch off the ones that do not, and prove the difference with controlled tests.

01

Search Campaigns With AI Max

AI Max is not a separate campaign type. It is an optimization layer inside Search campaigns that adds search term matching beyond your keywords, text customization of headlines and descriptions, and final URL expansion. Google moved AI Max out of beta in April 2026, turns it on by default for new Search campaigns, and began automatically upgrading campaigns that use automatically created assets or the campaign-level broad match setting in September 2026.

How We Decide

For most businesses, we recommend keyword-led Search as the core, with Performance Max or Shopping added when conversion volume and creative assets can support it. When we are unsure whether a feature will help, we test it using Google Ads experiments instead of switching the whole account at once. You see the results and approve the direction before it becomes permanent.

03

Performance Max Campaigns

We use the controls Google provides, including negative keywords, brand exclusions, search themes and channel performance reporting, to keep Performance Max aligned with your goals. Google also prioritizes Search campaigns over Performance Max when a query matches an exact match keyword, which lets us protect your most important terms inside a dedicated Search structure. Local service businesses can read our guide to Local Services Ads moving to Performance Max for related changes.

Our Google PPC Management Process

Our Google PPC management follows five stages, from the first audit to ongoing scaling. Each stage has a clear output you can review, so you always know where your campaigns stand.

01

Discovery and Audit

We learn how your business makes money: your services or products, margins, sales cycle, service areas and what a qualified lead looks like. For existing accounts, we audit campaign structure, tracking and spend history.

Output: Written plan with goals, budget recommendations and campaign structure.
02

Measurement Setup

Before spend increases, we confirm that every important conversion is tracked correctly. That includes form submissions, calls, purchases and, where your CRM allows it, offline sales.

Output: Fully tested conversion actions ensuring bidding decisions rely on clean data.
03

Build and Launch

We build campaigns, ad groups, keywords, negative keyword lists, ads and assets according to the approved plan. We monitor Google's policy reviews closely and resolve any disapprovals quickly.

Output: Live, compliant campaigns deployed securely within schedule.
04

Optimization

Once live, we review search terms, bids, budgets, ad performance and landing pages regularly. Smart Bidding needs data and time to calibrate, avoiding disruptive changes during early learning cycles.

Output: Calibrated campaigns evaluated over stable conversion periods.
05

Reporting and Scaling

Each month we report results against discovery goals and outline changes made. When campaigns hit targets consistently, we map out opportunities where additional budget or keywords pay off.

Output: Monthly review deck and collaborative scaling strategy.

What Affects the Cost of Google Ads Management?

A Google Ads investment has two separate parts: the ad spend you pay Google, and the management fee you pay us. Keeping them separate makes it easy to see exactly how much of your budget reaches the auction.

Your Ad Spend

You set an average daily budget for each campaign and can change it at any time. Google explains that a campaign may spend up to twice its average daily budget on a given day to take advantage of traffic fluctuations. Over a month, however, you will not be charged more than 30.4 times the average daily budget. We plan budgets with these rules in mind so there are no surprises on your invoice.

Our Management Fee

Our fee depends on the work your account needs, not a one-size package. The main factors are the number of campaigns and campaign types, the complexity of your conversion tracking, how many locations or product lines you advertise, and whether you need new ad creative or landing pages. We provide a fixed written quote after the discovery call, so you know the cost before any work begins.

Your Account, Your Data

Your Google Ads account belongs to your business, and it stays that way when you work with us. We manage campaigns inside an account you own and link it to our manager account, while you keep Admin access. That means your campaign history, conversion data and audiences remain yours if you ever decide to move on.

Google Ads offers several access levels, and only Admin users can grant or remove access, manage product links and unlink manager accounts. Google also recommends having more than one administrator so you do not lose access to your tags if a single admin becomes unavailable. We help you set up access correctly from day one, including billing, which stays in your name and is paid directly to Google.

Who Our Google Ads Agency Works With

Google Ads suits any business whose customers search for what it sells, but the right setup varies by business model. We tailor campaign structure, conversion tracking and reporting to the way each type of client wins customers.

Local and Service-Area Businesses

For contractors, clinics, auto shops and other local providers, we focus on location targeting, call tracking and ad schedules that match your opening hours. Phone calls are often the most valuable conversion, so we set up call assets and call reporting to measure them properly.

B2B and Professional Services

B2B sales cycles are longer, and a form fill is only the start. We connect Google Ads to your CRM through offline conversion imports where possible, so bidding optimizes toward qualified pipeline rather than raw lead volume.

Ecommerce Brands

Online stores need product-level control, accurate conversion values and a clean Merchant Center feed. We manage Shopping and Performance Max campaigns with that data at the center. Our dedicated ecommerce PPC service covers the full retail setup.

Regulated Industries

We also work with healthcare, financial services, real estate and education businesses. Several of these categories carry additional Google Ads policy requirements, and some require advertiser certification before ads can run. We check these requirements during discovery so your campaigns launch compliant.

SaaS and App Companies

Software businesses often measure success by trials, demos or subscriptions rather than single purchases. We track those milestones as separate conversion actions and assign values that reflect their worth to your business.
